MARINYLON marine plastic recycling

MARINYLON is a Taiwanese company that collects used fishing nets from the sea and local fishermen. They process the nets to repurpose the material for threads and fabrics. I will use the fabrics they weave for the canvas to which the moss will attach. This technique will be adapted to form the bases of the wall systems.

The upscale office furniture company humanscale designs with an emphasis of practicality and ergonomics. Their designs often flaunt and purposefully expose the technology that makes their products practical.

Moss Ocean

Designed for Humanscale’s Ocean product series, Moss Ocean is a conceptual wall system that can be arranged to make semi private spaces in open floor plan offices. Moss Ocean is constructed with 100 percent recycled materials. The plastic base and fabric screen would be constructed with recycled fishing net nylon, as Humanscale’s ocean series is. The suspended screens have live moss attached to promote productivity and improve employee mental and physical wellbeing.
